Not guilty plea in Cleveland VA corruption probe

CLEVELAND — A former director of the Veterans Affairs medical centers in Cleveland and Dayton has pleaded not guilty to additional federal charges in a bribery case.

William Montague of Brecksville entered the plea Wednesday after an expanded 65-count indictment was issued last week. He’s charged with taking bribes in exchange for influencing VA decisions on more than $1 billion in contracts. The additional charges in the superseding indictment include conspiracy and mail and wire fraud.
