Trump signs $8.3B emergency bill to combat coronavirus

President Trump signed legislation that makes $8.3 billion in emergency funding available to combat the coronavirus outbreak.

Trump signed the bill on Friday at the White House before departing for Nashville, Tennessee, to assess tornado damage.

“We’ve signed the 8.3 billion. I asked for 2 1/2, and I got 8.3. And I’ll take it,” Trump told reporters.

More than 100,000 coronavirus cases have been reported around the world, with more than 225 cases confirmed in the United States. At least 14 people in the U.S. have died.
