Deval Patrick: Hillary Clinton’s Sense of Entitlement ‘Off-Putting’ to Voters

Governor Deval Patrick (D, Mass.) says that Hillary Clinton’s sense of entitlement is “off-putting to regular voters.” Patrick made the comments on Meet the Press:

“Hillary Clinton,” moderator Chuck Todd said, “you have praised her, talked about that you’ve admired her from afar, you don’t know her very well. But you say you are concerned about this air of inevitability–that it’s bad for the party.”

“Yes,” Patrick said.

“Explain,” said Todd.

“Well, I think first of all Hillary Clinton — Secretary Clinton — has been an extraordinary public servant and would be a terrific candidate for president. But I think that the narrative that it’s inevitable is off putting to regular voters,” said Patrick. “People read inevitability as entitlement.”

In the same interview this morning, Patrick ruled out running for president in 2016:
