Katie Miller, wife of White House senior adviser Stephen Miller, praised Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) egg-freezing announcement by saying “we need more babies.”
“Good for her for wanting to be a mother and preserving the ability to do so. If she inspires other women to want to become mothers, awesome we need more babies,” Miller wrote on X.

Ocasio-Cortez called her decision “bada**,” and said she plans to continue documenting the egg-freezing process publicly, inviting followers to submit questions along the way.
Ocasio-Cortez has continuously used her platform to speak openly about women’s health. Her announcement comes as the nation’s fertility rate continues a two-decade-long decline. The number of births per 1,000 childbearing women dropped to 53 during the first three months of 2026 and has been on a steady decline since 2007. The Congressional Budget Office projected earlier this year that, if current birth rate trends continue over the next three decades, the total U.S. population will begin to shrink by 2056.
Ocasio-Cortez also said over the weekend she hasn’t “ruled out the possibility” of running for president in 2028 after a recent poll placed her ahead of other potential Democratic candidates.
