Ruth Bader Ginsburg officiates wedding weeks after hospitalization

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg officiated a wedding on Sunday, just weeks after her latest stay at a hospital.

The 87-year-old associate justice presided over the marriage of family friends, Barb Solish and Danny Kazin, who both tested negative for COVID-19 before the outdoor ceremony took place.

Solish, the communications director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, tweeted, “2020 has been rough, but yesterday was Supreme.”

Ginsburg most recently had a brief stay at a New York City hospital in late July, where she had been admitted for a nonsurgical procedure.

A statement released earlier that month said Ginsburg began a chemotherapy course on May 19 to treat a recurrence of cancer and that the treatment had been yielding positive results so far.

Although she is being treated for cancer, Ginsburg says she has no plans to retire.
