LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a mother and two of her children are hospitalized in grave condition after being pulled from a motel pool in Hollywood.
Fire officials say the woman and her 12-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son were not breathing and did not have pulses when they were rescued Monday.
The children headed to the deep end of the 7 ½-foot-deep pool and panicked, prompting their 36-year-old mother to jump in to rescue them. Fire spokesman Peter Sanders says the trio had “limited” swimming abilities.
Police Officer Joel Morales said Tuesday the three remain in grave condition.
Sanders says a man who had learned CPR last week was walking down the street and heard the commotion at the Hollywood Premiere Motel. He pulled all three from the pool and began revival efforts.
