Eric Trump on Wednesday implied that Twitter’s recommendation that he follow people like former President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and left-leaning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres could be a result of the “deep state” shadow government.
“Shocking… once again, here are the @Twitter ‘suggestions’ of who I should follow. #DeepState,” Trump tweeted, with an image of the social media platform’s automated recommendation that President Trump’s second eldest son follow the three Democrats.

The term “deep state” refers to a conspiracy theory that there is a behind-the-scenes, unelected bureaucracy controlling the government.
