CNN’s latest electoral map for the presidential election shows a possible narrow pathway for a Donald Trump victory, as it shows Clinton is likely to win 268 of the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House.
That means, under the current map at least, Trump could win if he wins all of the remaining battleground states.
According to the map, Trump has 204 Electoral College votes, and there are 66 remaining in states that are too close to call. Trump would have to win each of those in order to reach 270 and win the election.
The six battleground states on CNN’s map include Arizona and Florida, which have received a lot of attention from the candidates in the recent weeks.
Trump has gained on Clinton in the last few weeks and has put himself in a position to win, but only if he wins the vast majority of battleground states.
According to a RealClearPolitics average of polls, Clinton has a lock on 208 Electoral College votes, and Trump hs 164, and there are 166 votes left in 13 battleground states.
