It seems comedian Larry David’s life is imitating art.
The “Seinfeld” co-creator revealed during a Television Critics Association panel in Los Angeles on Wednesday that he is in fact a distant relative of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
The similarities between the pair led to David regularly landing a guest spot on “Saturday Night Live” impersonating the former Democratic presidential candidate during the lead-up to the 2016 elections. They then starred alongside each other in an episode in February 2016.
“He’s in the line … like a third cousin, or something,” David said at the event promoting the next season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” “I was very happy about that. I figured there was some connection.”
The familial discovery was made as part of a PBS series, “Finding Your Roots.” A reporter who had seen a preview of the episode asked David about the installment.
“They told me not to say anything but you’re spilling the beans,” David responded.
