UVA receives Gates Foundation grant

The University if Virginia School of Medicine received a $14.7 million grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The grant will be used by an international team of investigators working through the university to study why oral vaccines are less effective when used on children in developing countries, according to NBC29 in Charlottesville.

Officials will study vaccinations of nearly 1,000 infants from Bangladesh and India.
