Just a few minutes ago, on Fox News, House Republican whip Kevin McCarthy came out against Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell’s debt ceiling budget plan. Asked whether he likes the McConnell plan, McCarthy said, “No.” It seems that last night some House Republican members were tepid on the plan, but now that they’ve had time to think about it, members are beginning to come out against the complex plan that would give President Obama the authority to raise the debt limit as long as he simultaneously proposes spending cuts.
