A high ranking Iranian officer on Monday dismissed President Trump’s warning that Iran needs to be “cautious” about threatening the United States as just “psychological warfare.”
Chief of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard’s volunteer Basij force Gen. Gholam Hossein Gheibparvar said Trump “won’t dare” take military action against Iran, according to an Islamic Society of North America news agency, the Times of Israel reported.
“To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE,” Trump posted on Twitter Sunday. “WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”

Trump’s tweet was sparked by Iranian leader Hassan Rouhani, who said Sunday that Trump should stop threatening Iran “or else you will regret it.”
“American must understand well that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace and war with Iran is the mother of all wars,” Rouhani said Sunday.
Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, and Iranian lawmaker, said that he did not feel the confrontational rhetoric would lead to a military confrontation between Iran and the United States. He said both Trump and Rouhani “express themselves through speeches since diplomatic channels are closed.”
