Ryan Zinke, Corey Lewandowski join lobbying firm

Weeks after Ryan Zinke resigned as Interior secretary amid scandal, he and President Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski are joining forces at a Washington lobbying firm.

The two have signed on as senior advisers at Turnberry Solutions, Politico reported Wednesday. Lewandowski has allowed Turnberry lobbyists to work out of his Capitol Hill home, where he stayed when he visited Washington.

Jason Osborne, a partner at Turnberry, told Politico that Lewandowski won’t be doing any work as a lobbyist, but Zinke may register as one.

“Zinke will if it’s the right clients and it’s something he’s passionate about,” Osborne said.

Zinke’s move is notable given Trump promised to “drain the swamp” during the presidential campaign. He is the first former Trump Cabinet member to join a lobbying firm. He stepped down at the end of last year amid several investigations into his personal finances and other matters.

Zinke will focus on energy and defense matters at Turnberry.
