President Trump on Wednesday touted America’s robust nuclear arsenal and status as the “most powerful nation in the world” as U.S. and North Korean leaders continue to trade threats.
“My first order as president was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal. It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before,” Trump tweeted Wednesday. “Hopefully we will never have to use this power, but there will never be a time that we are not the most powerful nation in the world!”

The statement comes a day after Trump threatened to unleash “fire and fury like the world has never seen” if North Korea attacks the U.S. with an intercontinental ballistic missile carrying a miniature nuclear warhead.
North Korea has continually tested missiles over the past year and a half, including two ICBMs. Kim Jong Un’s country reportedly now has weapons with the range to reach parts of the U.S.
