Entertainer John Legend is rejecting reports that he is seeking older, overweight Americans to cast as Trump supporters in a music video.
“There’s a casting call out there claiming to represent me looking for ‘out of shape’ Trump supporters,” Legend wrote on Twitter Monday. “This didn’t come from me or my team.”

TMZ reported on Sunday that an advertisement purportedly posted by Legend said the award-winning singer-songwriter was looking for “White men and women, 30-65 years old, Preferably out of shape” to play fans of President Trump in a video clip.
Legend and his model wife Chrissy Teigen have been vocal in their criticism of Trump, and Teigen was allegedly blocked on Twitter by the president in July.
“I still think Trump is awful and whoever voted for him did a disservice to the country,” Legend tweeted Monday. “But I didn’t issue this casting call.”
Legend did confirm he was shooting a political scene for a video on Tuesday, “but that casting notice wasn’t from our production at all.”
“Oh, and both sides of the political spectrum have their share of Americans of all shapes and sizes!” Legend added.
