U.S. Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va., has won the Chesapeake Climate Action Network’s “Official Climate Leadership Award” for his environmental record and opposition to offshore drilling off Virginia’s coast.
The CCAN is a local nonprofit environmental advocacy group.
In a recent statement delivered on the House floor, Moran said that “the Republican party’s mantra of ‘drill, baby, drill’ dropped from sight almost as fast as the Deepwater Horizon oil rig.”
