Senate Dem predicts Trump will pick Pence as VP because ‘he’s handsome’

Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., made a running mate prediction for Donald Trump — one that has to do with what’s on the outside instead of the inside.

“Donald Trump cares more about how people look than the substance,” the vocal Trump opponent said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Thursday morning.

According to McCaskill the presumed Republican nominee will likely pick Indiana Gov. Mike Pence based on “how Pence looks.”

“[Trump] cares more about the appearance, on his polling, and on his magazine covers and how beautiful his wife is,” McCaskill said, adding that she finds it “terrific” that Melania Trump is beautiful.

She added: “I think he will pick Pence because he looks like somebody who would hang out with Donald Trump: he’s handsome and cuts a smart figure, but he isn’t going to overshadow Trump.”

McCaskill, who endorsed Hillary Clinton way back in 2013, said two other possible running mate choices for Trump — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich — could be capable of “overshadowing” him.

Trump is expected to unveil his vice presidential pick Friday morning.
