The body of a man whose boat capsized in the Beaverdam Creek Reservoir in Ashburn on Sunday has been recovered.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said the body of 49-year-old Anthony DiGiovanna was recovered Monday afternoon.
DiGiovanna’s boat capsized at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the reservoir, according to the sheriff’s office.
DiGiovanna’s 7-year-old son was also in the boat. The boy, who was wearing a life jacket, was rescued by witnesses and survived, authorities said.
DiGiovanna was not wearing a life jacket. He was not immediately seen, and rescue crews searched Sunday evening and Monday for his body.
