The Prince George’s County police officers accused of cheating on exams shouldn’t lose their jobs as they still have a “mastery” of required police skills, an audit found.
The Washington Post reported that the audit performed by the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions was initiated in response to allegations that more than 30 cadets in 2009 received answers to questions from an academy instructor. In at least 11 tests, all students in the class received perfect scores, the Post reported.
“Our audit staff has certified that each student … has documentation that demonstrates their mastery of all required objectives,” wrote Charles W. Rapp, the executive director of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions.
