David Dixon is now accused of assaulting an unnamed woman with a long gun at a condominium complex in Takoma Park, Maryland, on May 6, 2020, the Takoma Park Police Department announced on Saturday.
Dixon told police he pepper sprayed the woman after she had allegedly assaulted him. The department said there wasn’t any evidence that suggested the suspect displayed a weapon, and neither Dixon nor the woman mentioned a firearm was involved when responding to police. Both parties declined to file charges, police added.
Dixon faces two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of use of a handgun in the commission of a felony, and reckless endangerment in the deaths of Dominique Williams, 32, and James Johnson, 38, in an incident that occurred last Wednesday. The two suffered gunshot wounds and died at a nearby hospital.
He also faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony in the assault against Michael Thomas, 36, who was present at the scene.
