Maxine Waters snarks: I threaten Trump supporters ‘all the time’

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., joked in a speech over the weekend that she threatens supporters of President Trump “all the time.”

Waters defended calling on Americans to confront administration officials in public while accepting an award from the Stonewall Young Democrats in Los Angeles on Saturday.

She accused the president of misconstruing controversial comments she made in June, saying she wasn’t actually calling for the harm of Trump officials.

“I did not threaten [Trump] constituents and supporters. I do that all the time, but I didn’t do it that time,” she said.

Waters has been a staunch critic of the president’s, often calling for his impeachment. Trump, in turn, has questioned her intelligence.

Thinking about how she can take down the commander in chief keeps her up at night, she said Saturday.

“I wake up in the middle of the night and all i can think about is I’m going to get him. I’m going to get him. I’m going to get him,” she said, also repeating the word “impeachment” several times.
