Passed over by American Idol but still itching to perform? Auditions for buskers to dance, sing or amuse the masses from Metro stations entrances over the summer will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 19.
Metro teams up with the D.C .Commission on the Arts and Humanities each year to bring buskers to 10 D.C. Metro stations for MetroPerforms from June through September.
The catch: performers must be based in D.C., ahem, that means you, N.Y. interloper and violinist Joshua Bell.
And performers must pass a background check. They can’t sell any CDs or merchandise while peforming, either.
Auditions are first-come, first served at Metro headquarters, 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, DC, which is accessible from Judiciary Square on the Red Line and Gallery Place on the Yellow/Green/Red Lines.
