Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed in a secretly recorded video that the justification for banning former President Donald Trump was that he felt Trump was trying to “undermine” the transition of power.
“It’s so important that our political leaders lead by example. Make sure we put the nation first here. And what we’ve seen is that the president [Trump] has been doing the opposite of that,” Zuckerberg said in the video. “The president intends to use his remaining time in office to undermine the peaceful and lawful transition of power.”
The video was obtained by Project Veritas, with Zuckerberg’s part of the hours of footage the group obtained from an “insider” working with the company.

Zuckerberg goes on to say that Trump should have used his platform to condemn the riots at the Capitol but failed to do so.
“His decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters in the Capitol, I think, has rightly bothered and disturbed people in the U.S. and around the world,” Zuckerberg said.
He also repeated the claim that the Capitol rioters received better treatment than Black Lives Matter rioters over the summer.
“I know this is just a very difficult moment for a lot of us here, and especially our black colleagues,” Zuckerberg said. “It was troubling to see how people in this mob were treated compared to the stark contrast we saw during protests earlier this year.”
Project Veritas’s founder Jame O’Keefe also tweeted more footage of Zuckerberg, showing the Facebook CEO praising President Biden for some of his early executive actions as president.

Facebook did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
