FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A Frederick man convicted in separate burglaries is set to spend 35 years in prison after his most recent sentencing.
Fifty-year-old Donald Leroy Stone was sentenced Wednesday to the maximum of 10 years for stealing jewelry, electronics and other items from a woman’s home. He pleaded guilty in May to theft between $1,000 and $10,000.
That sentence is on top of the 25 years Stone was ordered on Sept. 10 to serve for a burglary in December 2013. A jury in that case found Stone guilty of first-degree burglary, theft, malicious destruction of property and other offenses.
Frederick County State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says Stone is a menace.
The Frederick News-Post reports that defense attorney Matthew Frawley told the judge Stone is addicted to cocaine and alcohol and needs help.
