A subcontractor working at a Metro bus facility in Northeast D.C. died Tuesday morning, according to the transit agency.
The worker, whose name has not been released, was injured around 8:40 a.m. at the Bladensburg bus garage on 26th Street Northeast, said Metro spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein.
A defibrilliator was used. But it was not immediately clear how the worker was injured or what type of work he was doing at the time. He was not a full-time Metro employee.
The worker was taken to the Washington Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead around 9:25 a.m., Farbstein said.
Metro transit police are investigating the death.
The fatality was the latest blow to the transit agency — a track worker was killed last week in an accident and eight passengers and a train operator died in the June 22 crash.
