Newly sworn-in President Donald Trump will dine on lobster and grilled Angus beef with 200 of the nation’s most important people at a post-inaugural luncheon in the Capitol on Friday.
The exclusive event will take place in Statuary Hall, on the second floor of the Capitol. The lunch has become a tradition after every inauguration.
The guest list includes Supreme Court justices, House and Senate leaders, Cabinet nominees and of course the president and vice president.
Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., who is chairman of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, said the luncheon will give the two parties an opportunity “to come together and, in the same spirit of all our inaugural events, show the world how uniquely American we are in our peaceful transfer of power.”
