College: It’s what’s for dinner

There’s no such thing as a free lunch, but there is a free dinner for parents interested in talking college prep with D.C. Public Schools officials.

The school system is hosting a “Parent Academy”  on Thursday evening at Harriet Tubman Elementary School for parents of eighth- through 11th-graders.

Along with a light dinner, parents will meet with the head of DCPS College Readiness and some college counselors, while students will have their own chats about college opportunities.

Space is limited, so RSVP to 202-673-2149, for the 6:30-8:30 p.m. event.
