Westminster police increased patrols of local banks Monday in response to two Main Street bank robberies.
Police and the FBI are also continuing to search for the men responsible for Thursday?s robberies.
Neither of the two men covered his face during the robberies, said Capt. Randy Barnes, of the Westminster Police Department. That usually means the robbers are not local men.
The Westminster Union Bank robber is a 6-foot-tall black male in his late 30s, according to police.
The culprit in the BB&T Bank robbery is described as a 5-foot-10 black male, weighing about 180 pounds, police said.
The Maryland Association for Bank Security is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of anyone connected with the robberies.
Anyone with information should call 410-848-4646 or 410-857-TIPS.
