A Baltimore City 16-year-old was held without bail Monday on murder charges after police said he shot a man Friday evening at the man?s daughter?s Sweet 16 birthday party.

Jamal Charles, of the 300 block of Denison Street, was arrested Saturday evening by the regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force and charged with murder, assault and handgun violations in the shooting of Bryan Jones, 42, according to court documents and the city police.

Jones was holding a birthday party for his daughter at his house in the 1000 block of Augusta Avenue in Baltimore when the incident occurred, police said.
