Anti-Trump protesters block DC freeway

Anti-Donald Trump protesters blocked off Interstate 395 for a short time Monday afternoon, according to D.C. police.

The Metropolitan Police tweeted at 1:30 p.m. Monday that several protesters had blocked the northbound lanes of the the freeway that leads into Washington, D.C. Reports from the scene indicated the protesters were railing against Trump.

About 10 minutes later, the department tweeted again that the protesters had moved off the freeway.

Photos from the scene showed protesters blocked off lanes with a massive “Stop Trumpism” sign and other banners.

Washington, D.C. went overwhelmingly for Clinton in the presidential election, as more than 92 percent voted to send the Democrat back to the White House.

Protests have been popping up all over the country in the wake of Trump’s election, usually in urban areas that voted overwhelmingly for Clinton.
