Major Players: Xavier Becerra

The California congressman, and former leader of the House Hispanic Caucus, was part of a strong effort to rally Latino voters behind Obama. Becerra dedicated his remarks to the service staff who worked on the convention and their “ethic of perseverance.”

He also spoke of the similarities between Obama and Hispanic labor leader Cesar Chavez, notably their shared chants of “”si se puede” and “yes, we can.”
