School board to televise its meetings

The Anne Arundel School Board agreed Wednesday to take steps for broadcasting meetings on cable television.

“We want to be transparent to the community, and we know they all can?t come to the meetings,” said School Board President Tricia Johnson.

The goal is to have the cameras and lighting installed and other necessary construction completed in the boardroom by next September, said Bob Mosier, school system spokesman.

The county will pay for the school system project through its cable rights fees.

Meetings will be televised on Comcast and Millennium Channel 96 and Verizon Channel 36.
