Contestant Dan Chafetz chose the category, running through the first two answers with ease (The correct questions: “Who is Churchill?” and “Who is Goldwater?”) before hitting the $1,200 answer: “A 2015 biography of this former pro quarterback & GOP running mate called him a ‘bleeding-heart conservative.'”
Chafetz correctly provided the question, “Who is Kemp?” The relevant biography, Jack Kemp: The Bleeding-Heart Conservative Who Changed America, was co-authored by TWS executive editor Fred Barnes and journalist Mort Kondracke (and is available for purchase on Amazon!)
After missing the next question (“What are the Log Cabin Republicans?”), Chafetz bounced back to win the final, $2,000 answer.
“It’s clear that he’s the founder and editor of the conservative magazine the Weekly Standard,” said Alex Trebek.
“Who is Kristol?” Chafetz correctly responded.
