President Trump appeared to endorse Pete Buttigieg as being the most acceptable Democratic candidate that could be elected president.
On Tuesday, conservative commentator Eric Bolling declared himself to be all-in for Trump but also noted that the South Bend, Indiana, mayor was the one Democrat he could live with in the White House.
“I can live with that!” the president responded on Wednesday.

Trump has been a constant critic of the Democratic primary race, weighing in on the candidates’ performances and trading barbs with them. In sounding off on Tuesday’s debate ahead of the South Carolina primary, the president took shots at every contender except Buttigieg.
“Crazy, chaotic Democrat Debate last night. Fake News said Biden did well, even though he said half of our population was shot to death. Would be OVER for most,” Trump wrote. “Mini Mike was weak and unsteady, but helped greatly by his many commercials (which are not supposed to be allowed during a debate).”
“Pocahontas was mean, & undisciplined, mostly aiming at Crazy Bernie and Mini Mike. They don’t know how to handle her, but I know she is a ‘chocker,'” Trump added. “Steyer was a disaster who, along with Mini, are setting records in $’s per vote. Just give me an opponent!”
Buttigieg, who has strong performances in Iowa and New Hampshire, has criticized Trump. Last week, Buttigieg said he could not “find any compatibility” with Christians supporting the president. This happened after Trump said Buttigieg was “trying to pretend he’s very religious.”
Trump has also mocked the former mayor’s name. “Boot-edge-edge,” the president said at a rally in December, calling the candidate’s name “unpronounceable.” The president also nicknamed the 38-year-old “Alfred E. Neuman,” referring to the mascot of humor magazine Mad.
