Klobuchar laughs at male rival’s abortion answer

Sen. Amy Klobuchar laughed at fellow presidential contender Gov. Jay Inslee over him saying he was the only person on the stage who had passed legislation protecting abortion rights.

“There should not be an option in the United States of America for any insurance company to deny women coverage for their exercise of their right of choice. And I am the only candidate here who has passed a law protecting a woman’s right of reproductive health and health insurance,” the Washington governor said Wednesday night during the first Democratic presidential debate.

“And I respect everyone’s goals and plans here. But we do have one candidate who’s actually advanced the ball,” Inslee continued.

After a moderator tried to ask another question, Klobuchar cut in and chastised Inslee.

“I just want to say there are three women up here that have fought pretty hard for a women’s right to choose,” Klobuchar said while she laughed incredulously.

Klobuchar and Inslee’s clash was a part of the first Democratic presidential debate which aired on MSNBC.

Klobuchar is polling at 0.9% and Inslee is polling at 0.4% according to RealClearPolitics.
