Longtime Fox News guest-turned-host Dan Bongino revealed on Thursday that he is parting with the network after contract negotiations fell through.
“Folks, regretfully, last week was my last show on Fox News on the Fox News Channel … It’s tough. It’s tough to say that,” he told viewers of The Dan Bongino Show.

“It’s a sad day. They did give me the opportunity to do one last show, I don’t want you to think they showed me the door. That’s one me, not on them, but I thought it was best to go this way for now,” Bongino told listeners on his podcast Thursday.
“You know, I been there doing hits and working there for ten years; hits mean appearances. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t talk in media jargon, appearances on a network for, I think, close to 11 years,” he added.
A spokesperson for Fox News confirmed the news to the Washington Examiner, also saying, “We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors.”
According to Bongino, the two simply couldn’t come to terms for an extension of his contract. He reassured listeners that he bears no ill will, and said he may even return to the network one day.
He further thanked his crew from the show, noting that “we went out as No. 1.”
“We were the No. 1 show about 90% of the time,” he said.
Unfiltered with Dan Bongino garnered 1,179,000 viewers on April 15 during the show’s final episode, before his departure was known. Of those viewers, 93,000 were in the 25-54 age demographic that is sought by advertisers.
Fox News also recently reported that Bongino’s show was the top show in the weekend primetime category in the first quarter of 2023, with an average of 1.3 million viewers, 134,000 of which were in the coveted 25-54 age group.
The show will not air this Saturday, and instead, Fox News will air Lawrence Jones Cross Country in its place. The 10 p.m. slot will be filled by an encore presentation of The Big Saturday Show.
The Washington Examiner learned that a new schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

The host also updated viewers on his Fox Nation radio show. “So the Fox Nation show—for the radio show: I will have some updates on that. I think that’s going to end at the end of the month, and we’ll have some updates on that. We’ll have some options for that, too.”
The Dan Bongino Show, on which he made the announcement of his departure, is not affiliated with Fox News. It will not be affected by the change.
