Hillary Clinton said the House Select Committee on Benghazi’s final report found nothing to contradict pre-existing investigations and that “it’s time to move on.”
The presumptive Democratic nominee highlighted the committee’s $7 million price tag before arguing that it revealed no new details that weren’t already discovered in the course of previous investigations.
“While this unfortunately took on a partisan tinge, I want us to stay focused on what I’ve always wanted us to stay focused on and that is the good work of diplomacy and development,” Clinton said on the trail in Colorado. “The best way to honor the commitment and sacrifice of those we lost is to redouble our efforts to provide resources and support that our diplomats…deserve.”
She continued, “So I’ll leave it to others to characterize this report, but I think it’s pretty clear, it’s time to move on.”
After her stop in Denver on Tuesday, Clinton will visit Los Angeles later in the day.
