The Republican National Committee raked in nearly $18 million in March, part of a record-breaking first quarter that raised almost $45 million as the party focuses on the 2022 midterm elections.

Despite former President Donald Trump’s defeat at the hands of President Joe Biden in November and the loss of the Senate majority after embarrassing defeats in pair of Georgia runoff elections in January, the Republican Party raised money at a robust clip during the first three months of the year. Even the ransacking of the Capitol on Jan. 6 by grassroots Trump supporters failed to deter GOP fundraising, which collected a combined $44.4 million in the quarter.
