Music meltdown: Pink and Olivia Rodrigo among singers bashing Dobbs decision

Singer Pink joined several celebrities weighing in on the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and did not mince words, telling fans who support the ruling, “NEVER F***ING LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AGAIN.”

The What About Us pop star took to Twitter to express her anger regarding the 5-4 ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturned Roe, returning the fight over abortion rights to the states.

U.S. pop star Pink expressed her disdain for the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, taking to Twitter to tell fans who support the decision to never listen to her music again. In this Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019 file photo, Pink posed for photographers upon arrival at the Brit Awards in London.

“Let’s be clear: if you believe the government belongs in a woman’s uterus, a gay persons business or marriage, or that racism is okay- THEN PLEASE IN THE NAME OF YOUR LORD NEVER F***ING LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AGAIN. AND ALSO F*** RIGHT OFF. We good?” Pink wrote on Twitter.

‘GOOD RIDDANCE’: GREEN DAY’S BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG LEAVING US OVER ABORTION RULING

Pink’s post garnered a mix of reactions.

Those who shared her views replied, “Love this woman,” and, “My girl.”

Others tried to shed a positive light on the Supreme Court’s ruling.

“This is their point, Alecia,” a Twitter user replied, referencing Pink’s real name, Alecia Beth Moore. “Putting these things back to the states allows us to choose and further removes gov’t involvement. You stick to singing and reliving 1999 with subpar jams and I’ll stick to educating on the Constitution. We good?”

Another user suggested the Twitter rant could significantly affect Pink’s bottom line if fans who support the ruling follow her advice: “She is excluding half her fan base. Go woke/ Go broke.”

Still, others questioned disdain over the Supreme Court’s ruling in comparison to COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

“Pink I have always loved your music, so what about the rest of my body? Not just my uterus?” another tweet said. “My state is trying to force women to get an experimental vaccine to PROVIDE FOR THEIR FAMILY. Why [is] this NOT the same issue?”

Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong announced he will be leaving the United States and moving to the United Kingdom following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe.

Olivia Rodrigo also spoke about the Supreme Court’s decision at the Glastonbury Festival.

Bette Midler also tweeted, “GET READY, GAYS. YOU’RE NEXT,” suggesting the Supreme Court might look to overturn Lawrence v. Texas and Obergefell v. Hodges after Justice Clarence Thomas wrote a concurring opinion in Dobbs that argued the court should “correct the error” of rulings that protect same-sex marriage and contraception access.

In sharing former first lady Michelle Obama’s reaction to the ruling, Taylor Swift said she was “absolutely terrified.”

“I’m absolutely terrified that this is where we are – that after so many decades of people fighting for women’s rights to their own bodies, today’s decision has stripped us of that,” Swift tweeted.
