Roger Stone: Trump should ‘start bumping off incumbent Republican members of Congress in primaries’

Roger Stone said President Trump should support primary challengers to incumbent Republicans who have not supported him fully.

“If he did that, Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan would wet their pants and the rest of the Republicans would get in line,” the Republican strategist said in an interview with The New York Times.

Stone also said Trump should make an example of lawmakers like Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., who have criticized his agenda.

“The president should start bumping off incumbent Republican members of Congress in primaries,” Stone said.

The report detailed Trump and McConnell’s fractured relationship, saying the two haven’t spoken in weeks.

Stone did not immediately return the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
