Paul Ryan to welcome Make-A-Wish superhero to the Capitol

House Speaker Paul Ryan announced the Capitol will have “a historic visit” from a superhero on Friday.

Five-year-old Kaheem, who is battling leukemia, will become a superhero for a day “to restore our capital city’s spirit,” Ryan’s office said in a news release.

The visit was organized through the Make-A-Wish program, which grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Capitol Police will help Kaheem “take on a mission” in Ryan’s office. The young boy will also make several stops around Washington, D.C.

“We can’t thank Super Kaheem enough for coming to help us,” Ryan said. “But we don’t just need Super Kaheem’s help, we need his spirit, which reminds us that nothing is more rewarding than helping others, especially at this time of year. This will be a magical day, and we are truly honored to be part of it.”
