Unlicensed vendors selling food

Be careful what you eat . Who you buy it from might mean more than the brand name on that frozen rack of ribs.

Unlicensed vendors are selling frozen food from freezers strapped to the back of pick-up trucks, Howard health officials said.

The products come from reputable companies, but once they leave thehands of the official distributor, there is no regulation over temperature or quality. The food could be compromised and may make a consumer sick, said officials at the Howard County Health Department

Health Officer Dr. Peter Beilenson said consumers should only buy foods from licensed, regulated food establishments.
