‘We will find you, we will eliminate you’: Trump warns terrorists after Soleimani killing

In his first public remarks since the death of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, President Trump declared America had the best military in the world and warned terrorists that “we will find you, we will eliminate you.”

Soleimani and Popular Mobilization Force leader Mahdi al Muhandis were killed in a U.S. military airstrike outside the Baghdad International Airport on Thursday.

“We took action last night to stop a war,” stated Trump. “We do not take action to start a war.”

Tensions boiled over in Iraq after a U.S. airstrike killed 25 last week. Pro-Iranian protesters circled the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and chanted “Death to America” days before Trump initiated a military response.

“Under my leadership, America’s policy is unambiguous to terrorists who harm or intend to harm any American,” said the president. “We will find you. We will eliminate you.”

Soleimani was referred to as Iran’s “shadow commander” and had spent much of the past decade bolstering Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime.

“Soleimani was plotting imminent and sinister attacks on American diplomats and military personnel.”
