President Trump came up with a nickname for former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden: “O’Biden.”
The president coined the term while speaking about manufacturing to a crowd in Mankato, Minnesota, on Monday and criticizing moves made by the former administration.
“That was O’Biden, O’Biden as I call them,” he said. “That was Obama and Biden. Short, I like that term, O’Biden. Because you save a lot of time.”
Years ago, another Republican firebrand used the term. During preparations for her debate with the then-senator, Sarah Palin repeatedly called Joe Biden “O’Biden.” According to McCain campaign senior adviser Steve Schmidt, the term became a “verbal tick” for Palin. Per the recommendation of her advisers, Palin asked Biden when they shook hands before the debate if she could call him Joe.
Trump is slated to speak in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, later Monday.
