President Trump suggested that there could be an opportunity for former White House communications director Hope Hicks to return to the administration amid new shakeup rumors.
When asked on Friday if Hicks would return to the White House after resigning from her position in March, Trump told reporters that he’s “been hearing little things like that.”
“Well, I don’t know. Well I love Hope. She’s great,” Trump said aboard Air Force One, according to a CNN reporter. “I hope that — I’ve been hearing little things like that.”

While Trump did not confirm rumors that Hicks would make a return, his comments suggest that there is an open door policy for the long-serving Trump aide who left on good terms with most members of the administration. Many close to the president said he viewed Hicks like a daughter and one of his closest allies.
Rumors of her return began after reports that current White House chief of staff John Kelly is planning to leave his post in the near future surfaced yet again on Thursday. Some have even suggested that Hicks should replace Kelly upon his possible departure.
