New PSA urges people to speak out about potential mass shooting warning signs

A gun control group is rolling out a new commercial urging people to speak out when they see the warning signs of a school shooter that includes a young man preparing for a shooting of his own.

The ad, from the Sandy Hook Promise group that was founded by members of the community devastated by the shooting at an elementary school in 2012 that killed 20 elementary school students, was first unveiled Friday.

It was run during multiple Sunday political news shows.

The ad features a young man speaking to the camera about the warning signs shooters exhibit before conducting a mass shooting. The camera pulls back to show the young man is holding a rifle and is surrounded by ammunition.

“I’m sure tomorrow somebody will wish they had said something,” the young man says.
