‘The booing is f—ing us up’: Whoopi Goldberg chastises The View audience during Don Jr. appearance

ABC’s The View host Whoopi Goldberg chastised the audience off-air during an appearance on the show by Don Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle.

“The booing is f—ing us up,” Goldberg told the audience Thursday, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “It’s messing with everyone’s mic. You can grimace and all that. All we hear is booing.”

Trump Jr. was supposed to be on the show to promote his new book Triggered, but the first segment devolved after hosts accused him of putting the alleged whistleblower’s life in danger after publishing Eric Ciaramella’s name.

Goldberg attempted to get the audience back in line after the segment, but their loud participation continued throughout Trump Jr.’s appearance.

After a separate commercial break, an audience member confronted Goldberg about comments she made in defense of rapist Roman Polanski in 2009.

“I know it wasn’t rape-rape. I think it was something else, but I don’t believe it was rape-rape,” Goldberg said in 2009 about Polanski, who pleaded guilty of having sex with a minor. The movie director forced a 13-year-old to have sex during a fashion shoot in 1977 and fled the United States after he was sentenced.

Trump Jr. had brought up Goldberg’s comments during the show before the commercial break. The host asked the president’s son if he was trying to question her character. He said he was only trying to defend his father by pointing out the hosts of the show had done or said controversial things in the past.
