‘Whatever needs to be done’: Kid Rock Foundation donates $50K to victims of Tennessee tornadoes

Musician Kid Rock pledged to donate $50,000 to help victims of the tornadoes that ravaged Tennessee last week.

The heart of Tennessee was hit by at least six tornadoes and heavy wind last Tuesday, leaving behind hundreds of destroyed buildings and at least 24 dead.

“Whatever needs to be done to help Tennessee and the people she holds hit by last nights devastating storm, count me in,” he wrote following the storms. “God Bless Nashville.”

CMT, the American Red Cross, and an NBC affiliate hosted a telethon to raise funds for the victims. Kid Rock’s foundation pledged $50,000 during the fundraiser.

“We’d like to thank the Kid Rock Foundation for its $50k donation to the Rebuilding Tennessee telethon,” CMT said in a statement on Facebook Thursday.

Kid Rock is a noted Republican and President Trump supporter, most recently showing his support in January when he golfed with Donald Trump Jr. at Trump International Golf Club Palm Beach.

He previously golfed at the resort in 2019 with the president and said, “What a great man, so down to earth and so fun to be with!! KEEP AMERICA GREAT!!”

Other musicians have also pledged funds to help rebuild the areas affected, including Taylor Swift, who donated $1 million to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund. Swift said in an Instagram post, “The fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me.”

Despite the destruction, many residents are putting their faith in God to pull them through.

“There was a lot of hope here,” Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, a Republican, said. “God uses people like this in this environment to bring hope to this community, and it was great to see.”
