Ready for Romney Super PAC Begins

A press release tonight announces the beginning of Ready for Romney, a new super PAC encouraging Mitt Romney to run for president of the United States.

“On Sunday, supporters of Mitt Romney filed the appropriate paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission to establish a ‘Super PAC’ with the goal of urging Mitt Romney for [sic] run for the presidency in 2016,” reads the press release.

The group’s website states, “Mitt is not a career politician. He has spent most o fhis life in the private sector, giving him intimate knowledge of how our economy works. But he has also been an outstanding public servant. In one chapter of his distinguished career, he reversed the decline of a state mired in recession. In another chapter, he salvaged the 2002 Winter Olympic Games from certain disaster.

“He has shown the kind of leadership and courage we need in the White House.”

The executive director is someone named Jeffrey Goff, the press release states.

The website’s domain was registered just a couple days ago, on December 11.

UPDATE: The person who designed the website, a 17-year-old, has asked for his name to be removed from this post. “I’m not involved in this group. I do freelance web design. I found this job on a freelance web design posting board,” he writes.

In a follow-up email, the web designer says he was paid “$250 + a $50 upfront fee.”

Emails to Jeffrey Goff have gone unanswered.
