D.C. Council Chairman and mayoral candidate Vincent Gray just sent out an e-mail to supporters asking for 500 of them to donate $10 before June 10. That date, BTW, is when candidates next report their campaign cash.
Gray acknowledged that he’s not going to come close to matching Mayor Adrian Fenty’s haul:
We don’t need to match the $4 million war chest Adrian Fenty has amassed over the years, but I’d rather have the people on our side than that kind of money in our bank account anyway.
Gray spokeswoman Traci Hughes declined to comment on how much Gray has raised so far.
